We took off our boots to walk along the beach and feel the surf. Unfortunately, the sandflies quickly found our exposed ankles to be very appealing.

Sandflies are not as sneaky or aggressive as mosquitoes, but their bites were itchier.. There seemed to be a *lot* of them in some areas. They didn't bother us as long as we kept moving, or stayed away from the beach. We quickly grew to love to hate them.
