So, anyway, we met this very nice couple (beside Joanne) from, hmmm, some European country or another, who told us about the car fair in Christchurch. We went the next day, and bought a used station wagon which served us well while we toured around New Zealand.

We met this couple again later on in our travels. They said their tent was attacked by keas, but they survived.
